The U.S. are in Germany at the moment preparing to face Poland tomorrow at 11:00am PST. It will be live on ESPN2 so set your DVR's

US Team in Germany

Follow Up - According to CBS Bush (approval) poll numbers drop to 34%

Note - *** Newsbusters says this poll is bogus , but we can spin it anyway we want and it won't change the fact that we are down and being summarily throttled. ***
Someone give that guy a brownie button. Or maybe a stupid stamp, or actually maybe an incredibly niave, shortsighted, no finger on the pulse of America ribbon. Either way, the worst is begining to happen. I said in my first post about this that this administration's message this week and in the weeks to come were going to be important. Well, you can see the result, not shocking, but not good either. I'll be darned if we did not just give the left the mid-terms all wrapped up in a nice big red bow. Not to mention an in where national security is concerned, where as I said previously, they had not even been allowed in the door much less had any credibility when speaking on the subject. To now I considered Karl Rove the Garry Kasparov of politics, what was he thinking?? Unless I am missing something, or our president takes his huevos back from Don Rumsfield, 34% is going to look good in a month. I watched part of the hearings this morning with our intel chief and even he didn't appear to believe what he was saying. I still just can't beleive that Rove would allow Bush to make this colossal a blunder this close to Nov. in an election year. That is unless of course they were all blindsided by this as they say, or they were niave enough to believe they would go unnoticed. Either way the worst has not yet past, we (Republicans) are in for some bumpy water ahead.

Verse of the Day 02/27/2006

Romans 8:26

I don't usually comment much on these but this one deserves something. Sometimes we don't know how to pray, or what to pray for, or even how to start a prayer. God is telling us through this verse that we only need bring our deepest hurts, needs, joys, etc... before Him and that His spirit will do the rest. Bless you all today!!

Bush's conundrums

I hate to say I told you so... Well wait, I won't say that quite yet but this is certainly a boost to my assertion that Bush's politics are going to serverly damage the poll numbers for the mid-terms. So far he has tried to do damage control but its not working real well. The article sites everything from the Hurricanes to Social Security, but I think we weathered those fine and moved on. Problem is now with this port deal they are being revisited again and people are starting to wonder what the heck this guy was/is thinking and unfortunately it does reflect badly on his party. Stay tuned for more, but for now check out this story...

GOP Governors speaking out

Rainin' in So. Cal.

Good afternon all, well it is a gloomy day in sunny southern california. Funny how that affects the mood huh? It is a fact that people who live in states like Washington and Oregon are more likely to be depressed. Why, becasue it is freakin' gloomy ALL THE TIME. I was there a few years ago for around a week and a half and I kid you not, it was dark and gloomy 9 out of 11 days. Rained for 6. Anyway, not a lot to say today because frankly, the politics of this country combined with this abismal weather are making my brain hurt. So rather than blog myself into a frenzy about it today I will just leave you all with a few gems from the world of internet news.

The Russia-Iran connection

I have been skeptical all along about the idea of saying to Iran, we don't want you to enrich urainium on your own soil but if Russia does it, then fine. Aside from the fact that Russia and Iran have always had a pretty cozy relationship to begin with, I saw this article today on Debka and it confirmed some of my fears and suspcions regarding the straw man I described above. What the article essentialy says is that Iran will agree to a significantly modified version of the agreement to have Russia enrich "some" of their urainium but will matintain the ability to produce weapons grade material on their own soil. So really instead of solving the problem it really only leaves the problem as is and creates a new one which is Iran gaining Russia's technical knowledge of Nuclear Physics. Not a thought that makes me all warm and fuzzy.

Moscow's Lone Hand in Iran issue

Normally I wouldn't give this the time of day...

***This is a Christian blog, but if you don't want to be offended stop right here*** But I had to comment on this story I read on Drudge this morning. Apparently it is Sex, uh I mean sweeps week and Oprah, being the class act that she is, has, yep you guessed it, sex addicts on her show all week. Not so bad right? I mean she is sort of a philanthropist, always lookin' out for those in need. Wrong! I am sorry but even in the name of compassion, or even good TV, the last phrase I want to hear on television ever is "So you've had men ejaculate in your face?"

Like a teacher without any students... NO CLASS!!

Not that I watch Oprah anyway, but there is just no excuse for that.

Verse of the Day 02/23/2006

Isaiah 55:8-9

So...Two defeated zionists walk into the golden dome

with a bomb under one arm and a some imperialist propoganda under the other. The first defeated zionist says to the other "How many virgins does it take to welcome one jihadist into paradise?". The other says "I don't know, brother schleme, how many?" To which the first defeated zionist replies, "72, 1 to kiss his cheek when he arrives and the other 71 to collect his remaining blackened, discharged body parts." (Wah Wah Waaahhhh!)

Ahmadinejad is back, and he is just as wacky as ever!! Yes, folks from the man who brought you, "The Holacost, The myth", and such favorites as , "Israel should be wiped off the map", comes the new hit single "Defeated Zionists and occupiers blew up the Golden dome". Yes, you too can own these and many, many more! Availible from Ronco, all rights resereved.

Verse of the Day 02/22/2006

Psalm 42:8

Poll numbers will tell the tale

I posted recently regarding the UAE port deal and the fact that the liberal wing (or most of them anyway) of the Democratic party is coming out against it. I have followed the various statements made by both sides of the aisle and I stand by my original assertion. During an election year, this could be a gold mine for the left if they work it right. Firstly, they were the first to yell "Fire", always a plus, secondly, our Republican president has become defensive, if adversarial when confronted with the concerns of the congress and now I am sure much of the American public. National Security has been our political ace in the hole for quite a long time now, my guess is there are some right wing hearts a racin' on the beltway this week trying to figure out what direction that Mac truck came from and how they didn't see it before they were all political road paste. Think about it, even if Bush changes his mind, it is just that, at best. Agreeing with the left's original assertion that it was a bad idea. If he continues on his present course of making threats and vigorously defending this deal the damage could get much, much worse. In my mind the best thing Bush and we conservatives can do is to let the Democrats scream bloody murder and hope that (as they often do) they will overshoot the runway completely and end up making asses of themselves on an issue they could have won very handily. To be more clear, yes we think the port issue is a bad deal, no we do not want our ports controlled by an Arab state run company. But the facts are definitely not all in just yet, there may be more to this story than meets the eye. Let Congress do their investigation and if the findings are as many people now believe, (conducive to this deal being a horrible idea) then we will have to take it on the chin and move on. If, however, there is something we are all missing, and this deal turns out to be legit, the screams of the left turn out to be a political red herring. Then they look really stupid for jumping to conclusions and we look at best the concerned party who wanted more info, and at worst, in a rush to put a legitimate deal through without going to congress for approval. Either way in the end the polls will tell the tale. I would love to be a fly on the wall at Gallop in a month or so when this all shakes out.

Verse of the Day 02/21/2006

Galatians 6:7

Enjoy

Ok now I am getting upset

Today President Bush issued a threat to veto any legislation that stands against the UAE port deal. If that were not bad enough, that warrior against terror, that destroyer of Islamo-Facism went on to imply that to oppose this deal would be disriminatory. Of all the ignorrant, untrue, self-righteous statements he could have made... Well don't take my word for it, listen to him, "I want those who are questioning it to step up and explain why all of a sudden a Middle Eastern company is held to a different standard than a Great British company."
All of the sudden? I mean is he freakin' serious?? That sounds more like a statement Ted Kennedy would make. Sorry George, but DUH! I feel silly even having to say this, the UAE was linked in significant ways to the attacks on 9/11, from their state run banks laundering terrorist money, to their being a zone of safe passage for 9/11 terrorists between the Arab world and the west, and there is more. But that alone should at the very least give him tremendous pause for thought and have him encouraging congress to do an investigation. I mean has he forgotten the China/Unocal fiasco, tell me how this is different? Congress Rejected it then and they should reject this now. Dam I'm glad we live in a Federalist/Democracy!

Dem Slogan for 06/08 - We're tough on National Security!

I don't know if anyone has noticed this or not, but in addition to it being a really bad idea, this UAE port fiasco is also costing the Republican party points on National Security. Lets face it folks, whether we like it or not President Bush is our poster boy for "Tough on Terror", and he is currently being punked in the media by every wussie boy Liberal who has the moxie to book a segment on nightline. Normally they are just spouting the same old stupidity that keeps them losing elections, but this time they actually have a point. They are on the right side of an issue for once (someone get me some smelling salts) and we are playing catch-up. Watch closely as this developes, you are going to see more and more democratic hopefuls on TV coming out against this in the next few weeks than tinfoil hats at a Cindy Sheehan rally. We (Conservatives) have considerable ground to make up here so make sure your senators feel it! Oh and by the way, can someone tell Bush his fly is down on this one, its getting embarrassing!

This has gone too far!

Apparently there is now a bounty on the head of one of the cartoonists who depicted the Prophet Muhammed in a Danish newspaper. Hit Tip STACLU for this story

As a side note, here are some of the cartoons that muslim cartoonists have published depicting jews and christians...just to give you some perspective. The muslims who are advocating this violence are not only wrong, they are hypocritical on top of everything else. There aim is one and very simple, to do whatever is needed to gain and expliot power over other nations, to do so by whatever violence necessary and to point an accusing finger at anyone who stands up and reveals their hyposcrisy.

Religon of Peace

Absolutely NO!!!

I can't believe I am going to say this but I actualy agree with Harry Reid today. I am posting to further awareness of a proposed sale of rights to major US ports to the UAE/Dubai. I am a bit new to this story but Michelle Malkin has a great write up here and Fox news also did a piece on it last night here . The jist is that this deal would give a major corporation based in a semi-hostile country that we do not know for sure is our ally, control over major US shipping ports. There must be some heavy duty money and/or politicing going on here for this to have even gotten this far. I stand however with all of those who oppose this deal and believe it would be suicidal, not to mention monumentally stupid to let this deal go through. Obvious reasons being that some islamist countries/entities are actively seeking the means to deliver a dirty/nuclear device via some mode othe than an ICBM. Giving a country that harbors terrorists the ability to control what goes in or out of major US shipping ports would be inviting such a bomb into the country on a red carpet. Support your senators efforts and get the word out to whoever will isten. This cannot stand!!

Oh and the even more apalling thing about this is that the Bush Administration, our champion against terror, supports this deal

This is scarry!

I have been keeping tabs on the stories surrounding the Iran nuclear issue. Today (Hat Tip Drudge) I saw this article basicaly stating that the Imams of Iran's Ultra-Conservative movement have now deemed the use of such weapons in line with the teaching of Islam.

Also today Russia warned against using military force to deter Iran's nuclear program.

France says unequivocally that Iran's program is both military and secret

Personally, I think France is right and furthermore believe that based on the statements made by Iran's President here and here and the general unrest and state of mind in the muslim world, that we are headed for a showdown of large proportions. As much as all the peace first crowd want this not to be true, Islam is diametrically opposed to the values of the western world at large and has a mission , which is to get the world converted (by force if needed). I believe that no muslim who follows this teaching can coexist peacefully in a multi-religon/secular society. Am I wrong?

Verse of the Day 02/15/2006

2 Peter 2:10-16

Know anyone like this??

My name is Richard Cheney, I own a mansion and a yacht

In case you aren't a Bugs Bunny fan that saying is from an old Warner brothers cartoon, which is really what this Cheney shooting incident or "Birdshot Gate" as I will affectionately refer to it has become thanks to the left wing of the Democratic party. I did not post about this because I found nothing noteworthy enough to waste the space over. But after all of the fervor I just could not keep silent any longer. Let me break it down for you like this:

#1 It was an accident. Everyone there verifies Cheney's account, end of story right? Wrong

#2 There was no press core with the hunting party. No way to let anyone know right away, and frankly why would they have? It was a private party, an accident between two private individuals, and oh, BTW, It is none of anyones business! Only John Kerry brings press on a hunting trip

#3 So What! I mean its not like he went Windsurfing on national TV or somehow dyed his entire face Orange.

This is just silly, when a senator makes comments like this it just makes the liberal left look stupid. Don't get me wrong, I am glad they are talking, keep talking guys! All it does is polarize the differences between reasonable people and the koolaid drinkers of the world.

Cartoon turned into T-Shirt

Hat Tip to STACLU for this article Muhammed Bomb Head T-Shirt

Personally I do not approve of bashing anyone's religon, but this I think is about more than that. I would even go so far as to say it has nothing to do with bashing someones religon anymore and everything to do with making a statement about (as Ann Coulter put it) "Muslim's prediliction for violence". I say more power to anyone who has the big brass ones to wear this shirt. But if you do just make sure and check your car for mercury switches every morning. Once again Ann Coulter hits it right on the head!

Ann's column on the Muhammed cartoons situation

She just has this way of telling it like it is P.C. or not. My favorite part is below:

"But three cartoons made political points.

One showed Muhammad turning away suicide bombers from the gates of heaven, saying "Stop, stop — we ran out of virgins!" — which I believe was a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence. Another was a cartoon of Muhammad with horns, which I believe was a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence. The third showed Muhammad with a turban in the shape of a bomb, which I believe was an expression of post-industrial ennui in a secular — oops, no, wait: It was more of a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence.

In order to express their displeasure with the idea that Muslims are violent, thousands of Muslims around the world engaged in rioting, arson, mob savagery, flag-burning, murder and mayhem, among other peaceful acts of nonviolence. "

CLASSIC!!

Hat Tip to Six Meat and Aaron's CC:

Keep your laws off my (child's) body?

Saw this on Drudge a minute ago. I am sickened. 6 year old boy suspended for Sexual harrassment
My son and daughter did not even know the word sexual or harrassment at age 6, let alone how to put them together. This school ought to be ashamed!! This is just one more example of feminist B.S. and political correctness in our society gone mad. I mean, who didn't play "I touched you last" in first or second grade? Read the article and decide for yourselves, but this just makes me want to puke.

I had to add more as I did a search and got multiple hits. Apparently this is a pretty common practice in public schools these days. I am just amazed because boys and girls have been playing this way since the begining of time. I have memories in my own past of the way we used to chase each other around. I was once pinned down by four girls who proceeded to kiss me on the face, cheeks etc... Cooties maybe, well probably, but sexual harrassment? As Debbie Schlussel often says PUHLease! Is anyone surprised by this?

Iranian President invited to Cuba by Castro

Hey, maybe Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria and Venezuela will form some kind of unholy alliance. I can see it now at far left travel agencies everywhere.

Yes folks for a limited time you too can be a part of this fantastic vacation package. First you will be wisked away to the arid Iranian desert where you will visit the Ministry of Propaganda... uh, I mean information. After a chance to renounce allegence to your country of origin, commit treason and enjoy a hearty round of golf you will be flown via Helicopter to Fabulous Bacca valley Syria to visit the non-existent WMD of OIF fame (wink wink). Next you are off to that Pearl of East Asia North Korea. Witness first hand the abject poverty caused by pyongyang's ditatorial regime.. uh, ah, I mean America's stifling economic policies. Next you are off to sunny Cuba where the cigars are long and the prison stays for political and religous dissidents are even longer. Here you will meet Castro himself and dine on a lunch of Tobacco, Bannanas and Cocaine. Next, since you won't be getting much sleep, your tour guide Cindy will take you via bus to the tropical paradise of Venezuela where the only thing larger than government oil profits are the heads of the many celeberties who come to stay and spew vitriolic, left wing rederic about the united states. See for yourself how Hugo Chavez has exploited.., **@, I mean transforned the lives of entire people groups while all the time managing to stay popularly elected by making empty promises and death threats! Experience this and much, much more for the low low price of your soul... uh, dam, ah, I mean a small donation of $500.00 to the Sheehan06 campaign fund.

Too Little Too Late

Muslim leaders today made an apparent effort to "calm" the sutuation over the cartoon parodies of Mohammed printed by a Danish newspaper and reprinted at various other papers by sighting that "It is alright to demonstrate but not resort to violence". I am a little consfused... A few days ago it was "Put to death anyone who defames the Prophet" from protesters as they lit buildings on fire and fire bombed rescue trucks, and almost complete silence from the greater Muslim community who now calls for this more peaceful solution. My feeling is that this new found peace talk is just lip service after the fact, too little too late. The leaders of the Muslim community should have been out in force from day one shouting this peaceful message from the rooftops instead of giving their silent approval. If this article confirms anything for me it is that Muslim leaders are either incapable or unwilling to speak out against things like this at a time when it really matters. Another great example would be the Paris riots where the greater Muslim community was also relatively silent until most of the damage had already been done.

02/07/2006 - Verse of the day

Psalms 139

Hope you enjoy this new feature at Uncle Tim's

I hate to say I told you so....

Ok so let me get this straight. A Musim nation (albiet Iran) is now sponsoring the very kinds of cartoons that sparked all of the unrest we are now seeing here , here , to what... get back at the jews who had absolutely nothing to do with the cartoons in the first place. I am sorry but can anyone tell these people to get a freakin' clue. I mean it would be different if they were attacking Danes or something. That would be bad enough. But the contest is targeting the holocaust of all things. Religon of peace? Somehow I think not...

Monday, February 06, 2006

Now would this be absolutely ironic or what?

I can't confirm this story on any other site just yet but Debka News is usually very reliable when it comes to reporting stuff like this ahead of the MSM and others. Here is the headline that prompted this post, unfreakinbelievable...
"Tehran papers announce international contest for cartoons on the Nazi Holocaust. Winners will be awarded gold coins."

Let's see if any Jewish people form riotous mass groups and start fire bombing Islamic buildings. Wait for it, wait for it, YEEEAAAHHHH RRRRIIIIGGGGHHHTTTT!!!!!

It is the Gaurdian but wow!

This news story comes from The UK web version of The Gaurdian. The article states that due to the US media's decidedly pro-Iraq stance and the rest of the worlds disefranchisement with said stance, other countries media outlets now have the chance to step up and knock the US off the top of the media heap. First off, what joke!!! The talk about pro-war commentary in the run-up to Iraq but they don't even mention the coverage since. I mean my goodness, I have to watch Fox News Channel just to get a neutral story about Iraq, let alone a Pro-Military, Pro War effort type story. Whoever this writer is he needs to lay off the crack and come back from la-la-land. Here is his unreal slog of an article

Duh!

I am sorry, but what did they expect. "MySpace.com said it was committed to providing a safe environment for its users", which essentialy means they tell our children, "OK kiddies, don't run with scissors, now off you go." I have friends who will remain nameless, that let their kids post on this trash hole of a website and don't even monitor what their kids are posting. A few examples; extremely provocative language, half and fully nude pictures of themselves, pictures of themselves in sexual poses, pretending to make out with friends and boy/girlfriends, etc... I hate to admit it but parents are as much the problem as the kids and the perverts who take advantage of them. I can tell you that my daughter will never have a myspace account, but if she ever did I would be approving and monitoring everything she put up there and monitoring every communication. Here is the full article: Sex assult probe for MySpace

Over the Top

...and no I am not talking about the act this teacher committed by showing 4th graders portions of the opera Faust

I will give a disclaimer that I found this, an AP story on yahoo news and cannot entirely verify its veracity. But having said that, the way people in this community treated a well meaning teacher if it is true, is part of the reason why we constantly lose strength and momentum to the left. Let's assume that this teacher was ignorant, nay, even negligent in showing a mature piece like this to grade school children. She realized her mistake and wrote a letter of apology to parents. That is where it should have ended right? Wrong, she received hate mail calling her a monster, a Satan worshiper and calls for her resignation. I am as against what she did as anyone, but odds are folks, she had no intention of turning kids on to the idea of suicide, or to making a deal with Satan for eternal youth. Was what she did stupid, absolutely, but worthy of being driven out of town and burned at the stake, CUMMMoooonnn now.

Cuddle Puddle

I heard this on Laura Ingraham this morning. It is a New York magazine article chronicling the lives and sexual habits of some highly gifted, very confused teens at a prep school in New York. I read the article and besides being a little shocked, I found that these are pretty normal kids if you take away the ultra-liberal outlook they have been fed from society and in school since the time they were in diapers. They mention the home lives of one or two but I would really be interested to know where all of these kids come from spiritually, emotionally, familialy, etc... I would bet dimes to dollars that this information would be as or more telling as hanging out with them for a few days. A group of kids like this in my opinion are a result of their respective and collective environments.

In addition the nonchalant way this writer goes about explaining their activities disturbs me. He assumes that there is nothing wrong with being promiscuous, nothing abnormal about men being attracted to other men, women to other women, etc... By his neutrality, he ignores the cart going before the proverbial horse and thus many of his assumptions are based therein. The one redeeming point in this article came in the truth that stated "Like it or not, emotions get involved. If you look closer, you can see the hint of longing, the momentary pouting, the tiny jealousies." In saying this the author reveals that he understands the dynamic of human interaction present here and that there are emotional lives involved in this sexual free for all, consequences to be paid, even moral absolutes if you take that to its logical endpoint. I feel afraid for these kids, afraid for a society that will one day be governed by a generation of amoral geniuses who have been failed by their elders, and there parents.

Can anyone say dissimilar in Arabic?

I am posting this not to bash Muslims or to promote the pictures in this article. But simply to show candidly the differences in the "Religon of Peace" and a truly peaceful religon. This is only one of many examples, but it candidly reveals some things about the people who follow Islam. A cartoon depicting Muhammad with a bomb for a turban spawns death threats and bomb threats worldwide, while Christianity, its followers, and its Saviour are berated, ridiculed and touted as childish and imbecilic daily in the media without even so much as a cruel word in return. The most egregeous example that comes to mind was a New York artist's depiction of the Virgin Mary smeared with fecies , I noticed nobody threatend to bomb the headquarters of the National endowment for the arts. I am just sick and tired of the climate of political correctness surrounding the Muslim faith and I think it is time they, like every other world religon, joined the ranks of the reasonable and started taking people's opinions and expressions however distasteful for what they.

Hollywood grows a conscience??

Say it ain't so folks. Bravo though to those of the Hollywood elite that still have a spiritual compass and still read it now and again. I saw the below article this morning and it made me think

Brokeback broke?

The writer who's vitriolic attack on anyone who won't screen and/or consider this movie for Oscar contention is telling in two ways. One is that he/she (hard to tell) makes it very obvious that the point of this movie was not art in film making, but to advance a pro homosexual agenda disguised as art. Two, that Americans, yes even Liberal hollywood elite Americans when push comes to shove still know in their heart of hearts that there is something inherrantly morally bankrupt in homosexuality.

It has worked though to an extent, and may still more if this movie wins even one award on oscar night other than best original score. I have been alrarmed to see the media in droves lauding this movie and telling of rave box office postings around the country as this is simply not true. Its worldwide gross thus far is under 60,000,000 in 54 days. To put that in perspective Bareback's other (Not nominated for best picture) competitor "Walk The Line" grossed roughly the same amount within 10 days. Is it a victory for closet homosexual cowboys the world over? Maybe... but it is still far from being a box office smash hit, the "Best Picture" of 2005, or even a realistic look at true and deep love as its supporters claim. A movie like this makes me long for films about young women boxers being euthanized. That, my friends, pretty much sums it up!
