The Unknown Imam

No not that freaky dude Ahmadinejad keeps talking about... The unknown Imam in this story who was very quick to preach calm and remind everyone that the mass murdering lunatics who would have exploded 6 airliners out of Heathrow airport over america next week are innocent until proven guilty.

The imam of Walthamstow mosque, where many of the suspects live, urged the Muslim community to remain calm and assist the police in their inquries. The unnamed imam added: "We'd like to remind people that the suspects are innocent until proven guilty."

I am sorry but the british police, pakastani intelligence and the freakin' NSA have been following these guys for 8-9 months as they planned every step of their operation. Innocent is a nice sentiment and even a great help to a man being accused of rape with no witnesses, but it is used improperly on these scumbags. The proof has already been established...I say off with their heads!!

Imam's like this guy are part of the problem, not the solution. As Debbie Schlussel points out here and here we have radicalized mosques and home grown terrorists living and acting in country here in America and I would imagine it is the same in Britan to an even larger degree. One of the commentors at the news site I saw this story on said it well...

"these communities are too small to not know what is being preached and plotted by their family members in the local Mosque."

Exactly! They were either aware or they were totally complicit. So I say we adopt the President Bush idea of guilt by association. If you finance, harbor, encourage, etc... a terrorist, you are as guilty as they are and should be just as likely to be prosecuted as well. Unfortunately I think it is gonna take another horrible event succeeding like 9/11 before we all wake the hell up and smell what the mosque is cookin'!
