Traidores! DON'T TREAD ON ME!!

I want to help keep this at the front of everyones mind because it is not going away anytime soon. The new imigration reform bill in congress, the protests that followed, the potential for who's knows what on the horizon. Malkin has great coverage this morning, and Carolyn Hileman over at The Voice has a great write up and call to arms.

I have gone from being sympathetic toward Mexicans to absolutely outraged in a matter of 2 days. I have always believed that imigration should be legal and that those who violate our laws are criminals. But the events of the past week have taken this to a new level. There are protestors at our city institutions taking down the American flag, putting the Mexican flag up and then hanging the American flag below it upside down. That is no less than a declaration of war in my mind, a few decades ago the national gaurd would have been called in and those people doing that would have been in danger. Not anymore however, not even the INS, much less the National Gaurd were called out to stop this outrage. If there was ever any doubt in anyones mind what their intentions were/are, one only need read about and look at these protests, the signs they are carrying, what they are saying to know that these people are traitors, plain and simple, and what does our constitution say we do to traitors again??

Teddy Roosevelt said it well:

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...

...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
