Through the Negative Looking Glass III

I have talked at length in past posts about our society's back is front, right is wrong, etc... turn for the worst in the last 3 decades. But I had to post about this one more time. In reading an article today on CBS's website about Tim Hardaway's phone interview, I realised something shocking. In American pop culture it is no longer acceptable to abhor homosexual behavior. No, I did not say homosexuals (meaning the actual people) although that is even more taboo. No, I said and meant that if you come out against men having sexual relationships with other men and women with other women you are homophobic & a bigot. Now lets examine those two words for a moment shall we? According to ReligousTolerance.org...

The word "homophobia" was invented by George Weinbert who defined it as "the dread of being in close quarters with homosexuals." It grew to mean a general "fear of homosexuals or of homosexual behavior."

According to Wikipedia though, which is usually pretty accurate it has taken on a half a dozen different meanings,

Homophobia is the fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.[1] It can also mean hatred, hostility, or disapproval of homosexual people, sexual behavior, or cultures, and is generally used to insinuate bigotry.[2] The term homophobic means "prejudiced against homosexual people,"[3] and a person who is homophobic is a homophobe.

So really what they are saying is that you can call someone a homophobe for something as simple as taking a gay guys parking space, or as complex as oh, I don't know, saying you wouldn't want a gay team mate changing & showering with you in a locker room.

Next the oft coined word "Bigot" or "Bigotry" again according to Wikipedia,

A bigot is a prejudiced person who is intolerant of opinions, lifestyles, or identities differing from his or her own. Bigot is often used as a pejorative term against a person who is obstinately devoted to their prejudices even when these views are challenged or proven to be false. rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr(sound of brakes screeching).

Hold up one minute. If we accept this definition then we also have to look at the word "intolerant". Another term bandied about by those who use the word bigot and homophobe a lot. Let's hear Philosopher Karl Popper's assertion in "The Open Society and Its Enemies" shall we?

He states that among other things,

In particular, should a tolerant society tolerate intolerance? What if by tolerating action "A", society destroys itself? Tolerance of "A" could be used to introduce a new thought system leading to intolerance of vital institution "B". It is difficult to strike a balance and different societies do not always agree on the details, indeed different groups within a single society also often fail to agree. The current suppression of Nazism in Germany is considered intolerant by some countries, for instance, while in Germany itself it is Nazism which is considered intolerably intolerant.

If you take that last part and substitute the word Homosexuality for the word Nazism and the word Christendom for the word Germany (not that I am comparing Christians to Germans by any means) it is easy to see why a reasonable person who, simply but vehemently, disagrees with the homosexual life style and its effect on our society might take offense to being called a homophobe and/or a bigot because they are not tolerant of a person or group's destructive and harmful behavior. Or maybe they just feel that in certain situations said behavior might be inappropriate and subject to moral scrutiny.

Lets take Mr. Hardaway's comment about not wanting a homosexual team mate in his locker room. If you were a woman basketball player would you want a man showering with you and watching you undress? Well I suppose it would depend on the man and on you but generally I think the answer would be no because... wait for it... it would be inappropriate. Why? There is a privacy issue where sexual attraction is involved and whether you are a man or a woman you should have the basic right to not be stared at and ogled while you undress and shower. Actually I will go farther, you should not even have to worry about the possibility of being ogled while undressing or showering. In my mind being in the locker room with a homosexual is like being in the locker room with someone of the opposite sex... Not cool!

So to bring this all back around to my original point, those who throw around terms like Bigot, Homophobe and Intolerance should take a step back and look at the larger picture. It may just be that your Intolerant attitude towards Intolerance is itself bigoted and Intolerable!

Iraq to close borders with Iran and Syria (for 72 hours).

Let's see if they follow through. I am betting this will coincide with the kicking of some serious butt by our military as they did not specify when the 72 hours would start or end.

What They Don't Want Us To Know

The fight by Muslims to close down a repair of the bridge that non-Muslims use to enter the temple mount has been a page 6 story at best. But the significance to Christians and Jews is front page news. So why did the Mayor of Jerusalem suspend repairs and why are Muslims so angry. Well, you won't hear this in the MSM but from the mouths of Muslims themselves, they are afraid. Afraid that repairs to the bridge may uncover some evidence that proves Israels right to the temple mount prior to the arrival of the Muslims in Jerusalem and the building of Al-Aqsa. You see one of the most ridiculous Muslim claims other than denying the Holocaust is there assertion that the Jews have no inherent right to the Holy Land. No, not that they can't have it back, or that they haven't earned it. No, they believe rather blindly that contrary to thousands of years of written history the Israelites were just plain never there to begin with.

So why is this such an issue over the rebuilding of a bridge? Well, simply put, in Jerusalem you need and Archaeological permit to do any kind of construction work on or near a sight like this even if you have no intent to search for any artifacts. Just the fact that you might find one while moving the earth needed to build whatever it is stands as enough of a need that Israel's government has this law. In any event, the Muslims being ever distrusting of Jewish motives, have taken the position that Jews are doing this renovation as a guise for proving the existence of a B.C. Jewish temple on that site. Some Muslims claim however that the re-construction of the bridge in question, which is well outside the area Muslims consider Holy Ground is defiling the ground and object on that basis alone. This is sort of disingenuous though when you consider that barely 6 years ago Muslims ravaged with bulldozers, the area within the boundaries they say they want to protect despite the deep and very vocal objections of Jewish leaders.

This Article covers the edges of it, but I would suggest a comprehensive Google search if you want the entire story.

24 Is A Shell Of Its Former Self

Blogs -4- Bauer touches on it with a fairly good Dennis Miller Parody . But its really more than that. Fox has gone completely off the deep end into the realm of Fairies and Fantasy land... and no I don't mean the 10:00 o'clock news. Last season they at least tried to mask their whimpification of Bauer and friends by keeping a little truth in reality on board for the ride. This season is among other things an Islamo-Love fest rivaled only by the quarterly CAIR, "I'm Good Enough, Radical Enough, & Praise Be To Allah, My 13th Wife Likes Me" conference. 99.5% of the characters this season have a more than obvious liberal bent to them and what is worse yet, they are being portrayed as mainstream while the only two on the show with any conservative tendencies at all, Peter Mac Nichol and Powers Booth, are portrayed as extremest ideologues who are bent on imprisoning Americans and denying people their rights. So this adds yet another element, which is basically that they have, by searching the archives of letterman's Top 10 list for the last 6 years and digging deep into the Sheehan articles on the Huffington Post, come up with what a conservative really is and used that as a template for these characters. Not only is it offensive, its just flat out lame. From a guy who has watched every single season of 24, I am half tempted to just forget the rest of the of it and be content to wait until Tuesday where there is (for the time being anyway) still a half way decent Pro-American show on (NCIS) to get my fix. Honestly, if I were not to have had the history already with this show and had just turned it on for the first time last night not only would I have never watched again, I would have put it in the same category with Boston Public, Law & Order(s), Crossing Jordan, etc... and bagged on anyone who said they watched it.

It was nice while it lasted, but I have to say goodbye to 24 I'm afraid, and say, in the immortal words of some eeeviiilll vilan out there that Jack may have eaten for lunch 3 seasons ago, but now would not have the will to hurt because of all the emotional damage done to him by our oppressive government's abuse of human rights and lack of a good dental plan... Update: 02/07/07

I almost forgot to mention the plot. Yes folks it now seems that America and its Imperialist corporations are responsible for terrorism. It was the greed and short-sightedness of evil American white men that allowed Imhotep to get his hands on the suitcase nukes to begin with. Oh, and be sure not to miss the fact that they make the go between, who is not responsible but complicit, a Brit either. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that this entire season is a an attempt at a bad metaphor for The Us and Britan's Iraq and terrorism policies respectively. When you really think about it the writers must think the majority of us are brain dead to have written such a massive piece of dung. I am insulted

Would You Vote For This Man?

Rudy in 08?

So would you? If it were between him and Hillary? Him and Edwards? I am speaking to moderate democrats as well, cuz while Rudi is a hawk on defense, he may as well be a log cabin repulican member of NOW for all he cares about conservative social policy. He is a bit of an enigma to me with his views bouncing from conservative to liberal back and forth so many times that I am not really sure where he stands morally in his own life. I don't know about you but that matters to me. A man's business is his business and everything, but it scares me to think of having another clintoonesque president for lack of a better term. On the whole though I like him, he "seems" to have his head on semi-straight and apart from his liberal stance on Gay Marriage/Rights and Abortion seems also to understand the argument, why people oppose those things and seems to believe that there is a valid argument unlike those on the left who sware by those things like they are written in stone or something. Oh well, I suppose more time will tell though. I am interested in what all of you think. All comments are welcome!

Vanity=Global Warming?

I have been following this debate over the last two or three years and especially since Al Gore declared the coming Global Apocalypse in "An Inconvenient Truth". Two things have occurred to me: One is that based on the gobs and gobs of money involved on both sides, I trust nobody. Two is that faith definitely comes into play here, more than a lot of people realise. Honestly... when you think about it, it takes a very vain, self important world view to say, "I affect the world's climate", or even, "I can prevent Climate Change", for that matter. Now I'll grant you that a dozen or so Nuclear weapons certainly could, but me thinks, not much else. Yes we are to be good stewards of this earth and respect that great gift. But psychologically I believe that the Global Warming debate turns on a persons personal Faith in God, and not so much how they feel about the science. Evidence of that is found in people from either side who will ignore what appears to be solid evidence because it does not fit their worldview. I mean think about it for a moment, how could someone who has no faith in a Creator possibly believe that the fate of the earth is in any but their own hands. Conversely, how then could someone with a very deep faith in God and a knowledge of how He operates in the world possibly come to the conclusion that they(instead of God) are causing anything that happens on a global scale or that they have any say in the matter ultimately whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I mean there were warming and cooling trends globally in the past, there are now, and there will be again. But as Timothy Ball from the Canada Free Press quotes Dr. Richard Lindzen to say in this article , "the consensus was reached before the research had even begun." This is the case in too many "studies" bent on proving one point or the other. No wonder why God said that you cannot serve Him (Truth) and Money both as masters simultaneously. Reality gets lost under all the dollar bills flying back and forth.

Whether it is faith, worldview or politics, from what I can see one thing is clear... Sound science is not the major force influencing this debate.

Obama - Perception vs. reality

Barak Obama says "The arguments of liberals are more often grounded in reason and fact" in his memoirs this year. This intruiged me so that I decided to do some research and confirm brother Obama's claims if I could. Here is what I found:

Liberals are for Multiculturalism in America which essentially says that any race group should be allowed to form subcultures over and above any culture of a nation state in which they live. Simply put they believe that to make America stronger we need less national unity, patriotism and assimilation of immigrants as opposed to the exact opposite lesson taught us by our founders who from many, made one by unifying, and finding a common culture as American's.

Liberals are against Capital Punishment for murderers, but for the killing of innocent children on the notion that the former is cruel and unusual and the latter is justified by a combination of some intangible age of viability and a woman's right to choose what happens to her own body. Likely the most unreasonable argument I have ever heard, 99% of women have a choice when they flirt, a choice when they invite a man home with them, a choice to undress, and a choice to make when they allow a man inside them... By the time of conception all of the relevant and important "choices" should have already been made. For those who have been forcibly made pregnant through rape this does not apply. But what does however is the fact that life begins at conception, period. Choice can be argued, but to argue that there are not clear and dyer implications to that "choice" is neither reasonable nor factual.

Liberals believe in Affirmative Action as a means to equality. When in fact the implimentation of AA at its core would see colleges, businesses, etc.. use racial quotas to ensure said equality. In other words, denying certain students or applicants solely on the basis of race so that you can accept or hire others based on race as well. Discriminating as a means to end discrimination, does not sound like a very reasonable argument to me.

and last but certainly not least an op-ed pice that kind of says it all... Hate Speech On The Left

"Over tea and large pistachio nuts"

The Iranian ambassador to Baghdad explained among other things, why exactly his country had military and security personnel in Iraq. Or at least , he tried to explain it. The ambassador, Hassan Kazemi Qumi stated that his country's security personnel were only there to meet with Iraqi officials to discuss how they might cooperate in the future. Mr. Qumi also openly admitted that Iran plans to build a bank in the center of Baghdad to spark and/or improve Iran's ability to "Trade" with Iraq.

If you ask me, and you didn't, Iran has no other agenda than to claim as much power and authority in Iraq as it can. In addition their sole mission is also to disrupt coalition forces and make it impossible for the US to stabilize Iraq. I for one am happy that our President authorized force against Iran's agents inside Iraq. Now if we could only do that with our own borders, in our own country.

By teh way, I find it rather expected, funny and obvious that the NYT was the one to break this story in print. A paper so bent on portraying the war in a bad light, that it would print a story confirming Iranian involvement in Iraq just for another opportunity to throw a jab at the Bush administration. Classic!

You Have Just Got To Love This

Hat Tip Agent BedHead

Apparently by some twisted mix of fame and delusion Tom Cruise has been dubbed the "Christ" of Scientology. For those of you not aware Tom is an actor, lately not even a very good one and Scientology is, well... This.

Just the very idea of Tom Cruise even playing Christ in a movie would be ridiculous, much less imagining him as a/the Literal Christ. This is just one more reason to pity Hollywood and its spawn. I feel so sorry for his current wife and child. I understand Katie Holmes was a somewhat normal, happy human being at one time. I cannot wait to see whether or not tom accepts this "title" or whether he tries to play it down in the media and salvage what's left of his public image.

No Coverage for Pro-Life March

Hat Tip to Michelle Malkin who makes her point with me in saying the Pro-Life march on the Washington mall which turned out thousands of people completely slipped under the radar. She makes the point that if this were a Cindy Sheehan rally for example it would have been 1st page news. But because the media is run by people of a particular ideological bent, namely liberal, it ended up on A10. See her full post for the details

Polls, Poles, or Pols?

You know I don't get really angry about many things but I am incensed by something today that, I guess is just a part of who we are as a country. Now, I am sure that most of you are aware of the science of polling. In a nut shell, that if you can sample a small "cross-section" of people from various parts of the country (sometimes not even that) you can get a good idea of the opinion of the country regarding various issues and/or the approval rating of a president for example. I read this article today from Drudge with a headline reading "Bush Poll Ratings Before Speech Fall To Nixon Level". It goes on to site two or three different polls and ends with the CBS Evening News Poll which is decidedly lower than the rest. If you read on they then tell you that in order to arrive at these numbers they "surveyed 1,168 adults nationwide by telephone from Jan. 18 to 21", out of approx. 300,394,897 people living in America. Now I was never a math wiz in High School but if my calculations are correct that is something right around .0004% of the population. Four Ten Thousands of one percent. Boy those polls sure have got the pulse of the nation eh! So my message to you today America is don't believe the hype and support your president and your troops on the eve of the State Of The Union Address. He is not perfect but he sure is better than any alternative out there and he loves this nation!

24 Season Premier PC on steroids

Well folks if you thought the past islamist placating done on 24 was bad, you ain't seen nothin' yet. They have even wussified Jack this year. I am a little confused though, as one of the plot points involves a muslim family with some hippie, liberal neighbors that get all outraged when the muslim father is taken in for questioning. the tone is very anti-conservative until you find out shortly after that we ( the US government) actually had good reason to grab this man, and that he and his family are terrorists. Then there is the wussifying of Jack in a scene where Jack begins torturing a terroist for information and stops cold in the middle of it saying, "he is not going to tell us anything, I can see it in his eyes". Jack's companion then proceeds to further torutre the man by shanking him under the knee cap and gets the information they are looking for. So it seems to start out being anti-torture and ends up showing that torture really works??!!??**? There is also as Debbie Schlussel rightly points out a villan who, yep, you guessed it, turns out to be the only conservative in the current president's administration played by Peter Mc Nichol (of Ally Mac Beal and Numbers fame) who the writers have painted with what I now believe is the embodiment of the way most liberals view conservatives. He is stubborn, closed minded, cynical and evil. Another slightly confusing plot point... the charachter...his name is Tom, wants to heavily profile middle eastern muslim men and that is painted as wrong and a bad idea and against America's interest, but then they turn around and show us that every single one of the terrorists involved in the plot thus far are middle eastern muslim men???!!??? So far its a bit Bi-Polar for my taste and certainly leaning way left, but I am a loyal fan and will watch at least until I reach the point of nausea.

"Liberal professors believe that crying wolf is valuable for calling attention to the societal problem of wolves, even though there's never a wolf in any particular case. Evidently, awareness of an alleged societal ill — of which we have no actual examples — is worth ruining the lives of three innocent people. After all, they're just powerful white men. Beck's is Gonna Be a Galaxian

David Beckham signs 5 years deal with L.A. Galaxy

So if you thought the hype over Freddy Adu was bad a couple of years ago, you ain't seen nothin' yet! Take a look at this drooling, slobbery letter that Galaxy fans got this morning:

Having been Captain of the English soccer team and the driving force behind two of the world's best and most popular soccer clubs, Manchester United and Real Madrid, Beckham's latest chapter of his superstar career will see him joining one of MLS's most successful franchises. "David Beckham will have a greater impact on soccer in America than any athlete has ever had on a sport globally," said Timothy J. Leiweke, president & CEO, AEG. "We are acquiring an individual that will not only be the best ambassador and the best role model for athletes and fans of soccer but the best example of what any athlete can and should be. David is truly the only individual that can build the 'bridge' between soccer in America and the rest of the world," added Leiweke. "In addition to David's tremendous desire to further elevate the sport of soccer in the United States and worldwide, we would also not be here today without the unbelievable cooperation of the members of his management team beginning with Simon Fuller," Leiweke continued. "We owe you all a debt of gratitude and appreciation and give you our commitment that we will support you as you support us every step of the way." "This historic partnership with 19 Entertainment and CAA Sports will also create tremendous and exciting new opportunities for us to collectively develop additional worldwide initiatives," Leiweke continued. "The synergies created with 19 Entertainment, the worldwide leaders in branding and imaging along with CAA Sports, the premier sports representation agency will result in numerous new and profitable ventures."

Were Shots Fired?

Gaurdsmen Overrun At The Border

News Report Video

This story caught my eye for two reasons. #1 The fact that a National Gaurd Unit was over run and #2 The fact that it is unclear whether our soldiers were allowed to return fire. The way I understand the gaurd's mission is that they are to "observe and support the border patrol" in a nut shell. But what is the directive if they are fired apon? I mean lets think about this for a moment. At what other point in our history have we ever allowed our border and/or our military to be fired on without it being an international incident, decleration of war, etc... This is not Jose and his family with a handgun trying to sneak accross the border for a better life, these are armed drug militias, sometimes aided by corrupt federalies and soldiers infiltrating our southern borders.

The article says, "The Border Patrol will not say whether shots were fired". They mean shots fired by us, and as a citizen of this country I want to know that my military is authorized to do whatever is needed to repel any such attack. If not, why not.

The article also says the shooters retreated back into Mexico which says to me that they are probing our defenses, trying to see whether or not we shoot back, etc... trying to figure out whether our military at the border is really just for show, or whether we will actually use them to protect and defend our borders. Thusly the question for me is no longer how many troops are there, but what the mission parameters are of the ones who have been sent.

Uncle Tim's Presents Ann's Corner

This new offering will feature pearls of wisdom by liberal slayer Ann Coulter. Each week I will choose from Ann's weekly column, what I consider her best quote. Her current article will also be linked below. So without further delay...

"Fortunately for liberals, the Iraqis executed Saddam Hussein the exact same week that former President Ford died, so it didn't seem strange that Nancy Pelosi's flag was at half-staff. Also, Saddam's death made it less of a snub when Harry Reid skipped Ford's funeral."

World's Oldest Person Dies at 116

Not so amazing by biblical standards where we see men and women living well into there 100's, but certainly a rarity in todays world. The part that made me smile about this story was the number of offspring that came from this one woman. Please read...

"Family members said this year that Bolden had 40 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, 150 great-great-grandchildren, 220 great-great-great grandchildren and 75 great-great-great-great grandchildren."

Her name was Elizabeth (Lizzie) Bolden

Another Sad Day For USA Soccer

What an utter tragedy! Un-Bloody-Believable!! The USSF just screwed the pooch big time by allowing this coach to get away. My feeling is that this was about power in the end and the USSF was too stuborn and too arrogant to realize that they ARE in a state of affairs that warrants drastic measures. yes, I mean real drastic. It has long been time for the structure of American soccer to change and they had the perfect man to bring that change right on the end of the hook, and they blew it. Down with Sunhil, down with USSF. I am depressed!!

From Fox Soccer.com

By Not Moving Forward US Goes Backward

Klinsman Bows Out Of Coaching Race

Stunning change of mind for Klinsmann

This is a stunning reversal after a week in which multiple, high-placed sources — including players on the national team — informed both Fox and media outlets in Germany that Klinsmann would be named the next coach.

Tonight, there is confusion among soccer business people who for months had not only predicted but expected that the German former World Cup winner would take the reins of a program badly in need of credibility after a dismal showing at the 2006 World Cup.

Calls to Klinsmann's business partner and representative, Warren Merserau, were not immediately returned.

According to several sources, U.S. Soccer had made Klinsmann a firm financial offer, said to be in the range of $1.85 million and that Klinsmann had accepted it. In addition, to avoid conflict between Nike — a major national team sponsor — and his longtime partner, adidas, Klinsmann had decided to step away from that commitment in accepting the USA job.

Have an opinion for Trecker?
Jamie Trecker's Soccer Blog

But there had always been the question of whether or not Klinsmann would accept the culture of U.S. Soccer. Power, and the sharing of it, was said to be a consistent theme in the talks and it could be that despite agreeing in principle, the two parties could not settle on an agreement that would give Klinsmann the autonomy he desired.

This is not the first time that a major candidate courted by the U.S. Soccer Federation has walked away from the table.

In 1995, Carlos Queiroz — today the assistant coach at Manchester United — angrily and publicly withdrew his name for the position after being kept waiting for several months. During the interim, which ranged from April of that year until August, U.S. Soccer had put Querioz and his assistant Dan Gaspar on their payroll, ostensibly to prepare a report on meeting U.S. Soccer's stated goals by the year 2010.

Queiroz' withdrawal has eerie echoes of today's if proved correct — Queiroz sent an email to a USA Today reporter to announce his withdrawal, humiliating the organization.

It is unclear what next step U.S. Soccer will take at this hour.

UPDATE 12/12/06: Loser decides not to file suit in Seattle Christmas Trees Being Returned

Sea-Tac Airpot in Seattle removed all of their Christmas Trees in response to a threat from a Jewish Rabbi who wanted an 8 foot menorah put up "or else".

I am so sick and tired of this whole "If you offend me I'll sue" mentality. Again, as I have said in earlier posts, is it a wonder our enemies laugh at us? I am not even taking the Christian position here people. I am just taking the rational, don't be an idiot position. Honestly if you are not able to walk through an airport and look at some Christmas trees, then you have much larger problems than being offended. If you are not able to deduce that Christmas Trees are a world wide tradition this time of year and have no religous significance, then you need to go back to school. Finally, it is not the principle of the thing, because there is NO thing. This is just plain Stupid!!!

Jane Harman He's Not!

UPDATE: Happy 2nd B-Day to Wuzzadem. They hit it on the nose as usual.
Pelosi Hosts National Security Jepardy
__________________________________
I read an article today that made me sad, but did not shock me. According to CQ editor Jeff Stein, our new incoming head of the intelligence committee does not know the difference between Sunni and Shia Muslims, something that Jane Harman for all of her liberal faults certainly did. I happened to have had first hand experience with her that tells me so. No I do not know the senator personally, but I have heard her speak on intelligence, well...intelligently and it is a shame that Pelosi gave her the axe. She really seemed to know her stuff and to generally care about protecting our nation. Now I don't know much about Reyes, but if the guy didn't know that Al Quaeda (you know, the guys who drove airplanes into our buildings) was an all Sunni organization, much less understand why that was important to know, then I think there maybe a slight problem. Now the article also goes on to (big shocker) bash the Bush administration for essentially the same thing, but we are not talking about them right now. Think about this for a minute all of you who put the dems back in power. Nancy Pelosi replaced Jane Harman (a staunch democrat) who was probably the most knowledgeable IC Chair we've had in a couple of decades for what?? Give up? Well, the answer is that Nancy just didn't like Jane very much. Not for any good reason I can assure you. She probably wore the same prada bag at last years Senate Christmas party or something and refused to go home and change. Either way what we are stuck with in this and many other top committee positions in January are a bunch of Pelosi-ittes who may or may not be qualified for the posts they are being nominated to assume.

As this article rightly points out we do not have the luxury of mistaking Al Sadr for Al Sharpton at the highest levels of our government anymore. The situation is too dire and the consequences too grave.

Yer Frend, BiLLy

Dear Billy,
Nice spelling. You're on your way to a career in lawn care. How about I
send you a frigging book so you can learn to read and write? I'm giving
your older brother the space ranger. At least HE can spell!
Santa

Dear Santa,
I have been a good girl all year, and the only thing I ask for is peace and
joy in the world for everybody!
Love, Sarah

Dear Sarah,
Your parents smoked pot when they had you, didn't they?
Santa

Dear Santa,
I don't know if you can do this, but for Christmas, I'd like for my mommy
and daddy to get back together. Please see what you can do.
Love,
Teddy

Dear Teddy,
Look, your dad's banging the babysitter like a screen door in a hurricane.
Do you think he's gonna give that up to come back to your frigid, fat mom,
who rides his ass constantly? It's time to give up that dream. Let me get
you some nice Legos instead. Maybe you can build yourself a family with
those?
Santa

Dear Santa,
I want a new bike, a Playstation, a train, some G.I. Joes, a dog, a drum
kit, a pony and a tuba.
Love, Francis

Dear Francis,
Who names their kid "Francis" nowadays? I bet you're gay.
Santa

Dear Santa,
I left milk and cookies for you under the tree, and I left carrots for your

Dear Susan,
Milk gives me the shits and carrots make the deer fart in my face when
riding in the sleigh. You want to do me a favor? Two words, Jim Beam.
Santa

Dear Santa,
What do you do the other 364 days of the year? Are you busy making toys?
Your friend, Thomas

Dear Thomas,
All the toys are made by little kids like you in China Every year I give
them a slice of bread as a Christmas bonus. I have a condo in Vegas, where
I spend most of my time making low-budget porno films. I unwind by drinking
myself silly and squeezing the asses of cocktail waitresses
while losing money at the craps table.
Santa

Dear Santa,
Do you see us when we're sleeping, do you really know when we're awake,
like in the song?
Love, Jessica

Dear Jessica,
Are you really that gullible? Good luck in whatever you do. I'm skipping
your house.
Santa

Dear Santa,
I really really want a puppy this year. Please please please PLEASE PLEASE
could I have one?
Timmy

Timmy,
That whiney begging bit may work with your folks, but that crap doesn't
work with me. You're getting an ugly sweater again.
Santa

Dearest Santa,
We don't have a chimney in our house, how do you get into our home?
Love, Marky

Mark,
First, stop calling yourself "Marky", that's why you're getting your ass
kicked at school. Second, you don't live in a house, you live in a
low-rent, ghetto apartment complex. Third, I get inside your pad just like
all the burglars do, through your bedroom window.
Sweet Dreams,
Santa

Pearl Harbor Remebered

Well here we are 60 years later. We have been through 3 more wars and a bunch of little conflicts but that stands as a testimony to the steel and resolve of Americans protecting their own. I found this article today that is totally relevant considering our seeming inability to find a set of nards with Iran. Read it, and remember our enemies are watching our every move. I wonder if the Iraq Study Group considered that when they were debating their 79 ways to retreat safely from Iraq, or when they were contemplating how much to charge for their new book...I mean "report" on the Iraq situation. To me it speaks volumes that they are going on tour and selling this "report". I wonder where the profits will go? To fund more body armor for our troops perhaps? Or maybe to secure our borders? Don't hold your breath...

Beware the sleeping giant?

Amen My Jewish Brotha'

Dennis Prager Speaks Truth To Power

I am going to post his entire article because I think it is that relevant. I have been posting the last few days about our percieved weakness in the eyes of Radical Islam and this speaks straight to the heart of it!

Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to the United States Congress, has announced that he will not take his oath of office on the Bible, but on the bible of Islam, the Koran.

He should not be allowed to do so -- not because of any American hostility to the Koran, but because the act undermines American civilization.

Forgive me, but America should not give a hoot what Keith Ellison's favorite book is. Insofar as a member of Congress taking an oath to serve America and uphold its values is concerned, America is interested in only one book, the Bible. If you are incapable of taking an oath on that book, don't serve in Congress. In your personal life, we will fight for your right to prefer any other book. We will even fight for your right to publish cartoons mocking our Bible. But, Mr. Ellison, America, not you, decides on what book its public servants take their oath.

First, it is an act of hubris that perfectly exemplifies multiculturalist activism -- my culture trumps America's culture. What Ellison and his Muslim and leftist supporters are saying is that it is of no consequence what America holds as its holiest book; all that matters is what any individual holds to be his holiest book.

Devotees of multiculturalism and political correctness who do not see how damaging to the fabric of American civilization it is to allow Ellison to choose his own book need only imagine a racist elected to Congress. Would they allow him to choose Hitler's "Mein Kampf," the Nazis' bible, for his oath? And if not, why not? On what grounds will those defending Ellison's right to choose his favorite book deny that same right to a racist who is elected to public office?

Of course, Ellison's defenders argue that Ellison is merely being honest; since he believes in the Koran and not in the Bible, he should be allowed, even encouraged, to put his hand on the book he believes in. But for all of American history, Jews elected to public office have taken their oath on the Bible, even though they do not believe in the New Testament, and the many secular elected officials have not believed in the Old Testament either. Yet those secular officials did not demand to take their oaths of office on, say, the collected works of Voltaire or on a volume of New York Times editorials, writings far more significant to some liberal members of Congress than the Bible. Nor has one Mormon official demanded to put his hand on the Book of Mormon. And it is hard to imagine a scientologist being allowed to take his oath of office on a copy of "Dianetics" by L. Ron Hubbard.

So why are we allowing Keith Ellison to do what no other member of Congress has ever done -- choose his own most revered book for his oath?

The answer is obvious -- Ellison is a Muslim. And whoever decides these matters, not to mention virtually every editorial page in America, is not going to offend a Muslim. In fact, many of these people argue it will be a good thing because Muslims around the world will see what an open society America is and how much Americans honor Muslims and the Koran.

This argument appeals to all those who believe that one of the greatest goals of America is to be loved by the world, and especially by Muslims because then fewer Muslims will hate us (and therefore fewer will bomb us).

But these naive people do not appreciate that America will not change the attitude of a single American-hating Muslim by allowing Ellison to substitute the Koran for the Bible. In fact, the opposite is more likely: Ellison's doing so will embolden Islamic extremists and make new ones, as Islamists, rightly or wrongly, see the first sign of the realization of their greatest goal -- the Islamicization of America.

When all elected officials take their oaths of office with their hands on the very same book, they all affirm that some unifying value system underlies American civilization. If Keith Ellison is allowed to change that, he will be doing more damage to the unity of America and to the value system that has formed this country than the terrorists of 9-11. It is hard to believe that this is the legacy most Muslim Americans want to bequeath to America. But if it is, it is not only Europe that is in trouble.

Finally A Nativity the Left Can Get Behind

Hat Tip STACLU for the link and the pic. Here is the Original Story as well:

The Young Conservatives of Texas - University of Texas Chapter announced today that they will be displaying an “ACLU Nativity Scene” on the West Mall of the University of Texas campus on Monday and Tuesday, December 4th and 5th.

The group’s intent is to raise awareness on the extremity of the ACLU, and bring to light its secular-progressive efforts to remove Christmas from the public sphere. The display, the first of its kind in the nation, will feature characters that are quite a bit different than the standard crèche.

“We’ve got Gary and Joseph instead of Mary and Joseph in order to symbolize ACLU support for homosexual marriage, and of course there isn’t a Jesus in the manger,” said Chairman Tony McDonald. “The three Wise Men are Lenin, Marx, and Stalin because the founders of the ACLU were strident supporters of Soviet style Communism. The whole scene is a tongue-in-cheek way of showing the many ways
that the ACLU and the far left are out of touch with the values of mainstream
America.”

The scene will also display a terrorist shepherd and an angel in the form of Nancy Pelosi.

“The ACLU and other left-wing extremist groups are working diligently to destroy American’s rights to the free expression of religion,” said Executive Director Joseph Wyly. “We’ve already seen in Chicago an attempt to censor the nativity by a city government this week. It’s just more evidence that there is a War on Christmas being waged by the far-left in this country.”

Why They Think They're Winning Part II

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

The abuse of this portion of our constitution has always facinated me. It kind of reminds me of the way some denominations are begining to interpet the word of God to say that the homosexual lifestyle is accepted by God. Now to my knowledge, and mind you I am a relative babe in terms of age and history, Congress has never, ever, made an attempt to make a law respecting an establishment of religon, nor have they ever to my knowledge attempted to make a law prohibiting the free exersise thereof. Yet we still have dozens of cases in which portions of our society claim that the constitution has been infringed apon by religion?? Those two statements are pretty simple in fact to understand if one attempts to do so without consulting the many supreme court cases on record debating it. #1. It was written in English, #2. There are no controversies over the English meaning of any of the words in that sentence, and finally, #3. If we become confused somehow, we have historical context to guide us. Let's take it a word at a time then shall we?

We'll skip over the easy stuff first. I think we can agree on what Congress is, so next lets take the phrase "shall make no". That simply means they "will not make any". Next we have the word law, I have included the wikipedia definition for your benefit as it is much more thourough than I could ever be in explaining.

Ah! Now on to the meaty stuff... First the word "respecting". In the context of this sentence it means "regarding" or "with respect to". Which essentially means "promoting" I think. Then we have "an Establishment" (See Established Church) and (State Religons). Also I would like to take the most broad definition of the word "Establish" and break it down. Now there are probably two possible ways you could look at it. #1 would be the way jefferson and the authors of our constitution meant it, and #2 the way our liberal brothers in the US choose to look at it. Only one is correct and very simply so if you examine it in the context of history and are not biased. the first is "To make a state institution of" and the second is " To cause to be recognized and accepted". I will trust that you have now read the two links I provided above and can see that there is no way any rational person could conclude that our founders meant anything remotely resembling the second definition based on again, both the history of our government and the context of the time. The last word is Religion, which I have also provided the wikipedia definition to for you benefit. In a nut shell though, an organized form or worship.

Even if you could make the leap and ignore all evidence to the contrary, you are still faced with that nasty little bit about "Congress making any law". To my knowledge congress never made a law that demanded a Christian prayer by a graduating student, or a law demanding that a nativity be placed on the steps of a city hall, or a law stating that a large cross be placed in the mojave desert to promote Christianity. Calling things like these government sponsorship of religon is like calling a Big Mac a Stick of Celery. Its really that ridiculous.

Now why do I bring this up as a part of my post? Simple, because this argument especially is at the heart of our perceived weakness as a country in the eyes of our enemies. They see it with uncolored eyes, they see the sad truth of it that so many of us don't. Put simply they can see through the agendizing and political correctness that promotes ideas like the liberal definition of a seperation of church and state. Don't get me wrong, I mean, the lawyers who came up with this argument knew it was a thin at best, false at worst argument also, but in order to promote it they had to convince people it was true. So what we have now is half our country who are ignorrant of both church history and American history who actually buy that load of dung. So why, you ask, does that make us look weak? Well, to answer that you have to look at the Islamic culture, God is the center of every family and religion is not just a thing you do on Sundays if your favorite football team isn't playing between the hours of 8:00-10:00am. I don't mean forced religon, nobody has to force these people. They have a respect and a reverence for their God that encompasses the entire family and their entire lives. So when they see us and our simpering, quibbling and infighting over such vital issue, that of reverence for God at its core, of course they percieve it as weakness.

I have not even mentioned State sponsored abortions or our debate over the very existence of God. But these too cause us to appear weak. I know some of you are saying that these things are our strengths. The fact that we have dissent, etc... and you would be correct if not for the level to which we have let these arguments rise. Having differing opinions and ideas is what makes our country great, yes! But we have forgotten who made the laws in the first place. We have forgotten by whose grace we even exist. We have "exchanged the truth of God for a lie" and now worship and serve created things rather than the Creator. Have we actually been weakened to some degree by this, I for one think so and do we appear weak to our enemies? Yes! You can bet we do.
